Location: The Moravian-Silesian Region, Bruntál area
Brief history
The historic exploited silver-galenite site was prospected to a depth of 150 m. Mining took place from 1965 to 1970. Two shafts, winzes and an adit were dug. In total, 216 kt of ore were extracted. The mined area is 95.17 ha, and at present, the site is defunct.
Type of activity
- Underground mining of Pb, Zn, and Ag ore. Shrinkage stopping, open chamber and chamber pillar methods were used.
- The ore was transported to the floatation processing facility in Horní Benešov.
Present-day conditions
The mine has been dismantled, the underground was filled with water. The Jaromír shaft, winzes K2 and Nová shaft were backfilled and capped with concrete. The surface has been reclaimed. The mouth of the adit has been secured for the outflow of mine water. Long-term monitoring is in progress.

The free flow of mine water from level 1 of the Josef adit empties into the Huntava stream.

Tailings pile of approx. 1,400 m2 reclaimed, area gradually stopped.
